2 Year Update…
Hensci.
Here’s an update since I created the website two years ago. There hasn’t been much progress in the way of financial support/sponsorship/grants to get my plays or short films moving forward, BUT I have been successful in collaborating with Georgia film maker Wilson Stiner at StinerBros. Film. After he reached out, we got together for three short days and filmed a short documentary titled Ehute Vpohyuke (Homesick). The idea was to have three Mvskoke-Creek artists who have never been to their homelands (GA, AL) be documented and finally meet up at one of the mounds in Georgia. Nobody answered the call. So it was just Wilson and I, come filming day. The documentary basically focuses on the Dead Feather Concept. It won “Best Documentary Short” at its premier during the Barebones Film Festival in Muskogee, OK. I even had a couple of small art shows to pass the time.
Also, during this down time, I have been teaching myself guitar. I put together a series of songs that serve as a soundtrack to the Dead Feather Concept, in which I will release as 4 albums over the course of the next 4-5 years. I will be working with The Stanley Hotel Band and recording at Remote Studios in Wellston, OK. I’m really looking forward to sharing that project with you.
In the meantime, I’m feeling awesome and getting ready for the recording sessions set to begin in August. I’m looking good, feeling good, smelling good. And I’m still hoping for financial support/funding/sponsorship for the play and short films. If that interests you, feel free to reach out. I hope you are doing well and life is treating you kindly. May a thousand blessings be bestowed upon you all. Until the next update, eat your vegetables, drink plenty of water and get some sunshine.
